Pedro Gómez Damborenea

Pedro Gómez Damborenea has a degree in Law specialising in Economic Law from the University of Deusto as well as a degree in Political Science from the Open University. He has been deputy councillor of the Planning and Strategy Department of Industry, Innovation, Trade and Tourism for the Basque government.

EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Master in Journalism from the Autonomous University of Madrid, and worked in several different medias.

Has been news editor for Canal Plus and for El País in the Business supplement and Basque Country for the last 13 years, where he was responsible for economic news.

His professional career has been combined with work as a teacher of economic and legal journalism at summer classes from the UAM-El País Journalism School.

In 2010 he was appointed deputy councillor of the Planning and Strategy Department of Industry, Innovation, Trade and Tourism for the IX Legislature of the Basque government, acting independently and not being a member of any political party.
